Privacy Policy
We wrote this in plain English on purpose. No legal jargon, no confusing clauses — just a clear explanation of how PixelLeve handles your information.
The short version
- PixelLeve does not collect, store, or transmit your images. All compression happens 100% inside your own browser.
- We do not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the tool.
- We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google may use cookies to personalize those ads based on your browsing activity.
- We use basic anonymous analytics to understand how many people visit our site — nothing that identifies you personally.
- You are in control. You can opt out of personalized ads at any time through Google's settings.
Who we are
PixelLeve is a free online image compression tool. You can use it at a pixelleve.com to reduce the file size of your images — PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, and SVG — directly inside your web browser.
We built PixelLeve to be as simple and private as possible. There is no account system, no file storage, and no server involved in the actual compression process. When you upload an image to PixelLeve, it never leaves your device.
The images you compress
We never see your images. Guaranteed
All image processing takes place entirely within your browser using a technology called the Canvas API. This means the compression happens on your own computer or phone — the image data is never sent to our servers or any third party.
Once you close or refresh the page, any image data loaded into the browser is automatically cleared. We have no access to it at any point, and we do not store it anywhere.
Advertising — Google AdSense
PixelLeve is free to use and is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense, a service provided by Google LLC, to display ads on this website.
As part of this process, Google may collect and use certain data, including:
- Your IP address (used to determine your approximate location)
- Browser and device information (e.g., browser type, screen size, operating system)
- Pages you have visited on this and other websites
- Cookies stored in your browser by Google
PixelLeve itself does not have access to the data Google collects for advertising purposes. Google operates its advertising services under its own privacy policy, which you can read at policies.google.com/privacy.
If you prefer not to receive personalized ads, you can opt out at any time by visiting google.com/settings/ads or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings. You will still see ads, but they will not be tailored to your interests.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website can store in your browser to remember certain information. Here is a clear breakdown of the cookies that may be present on PixelLeve:
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| __gads, __gpi | Google AdSense | Used to serve and manage ads, measure ad performance, and prevent showing the same ad too many times. |
| _ga, _gid | Google Analytics | Used to distinguish unique visitors and track general site usage (page views, session duration). Data is anonymous and aggregated. |
| NID, CONSENT | Store user preferences and consent choices related to Google services. |
PixelLeve itself does not set any first-party cookies. All cookies on our site originate from Google's services. You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
Analytics and website traffic
We use Google Analytics to better understand how people use PixelLeve. This helps us improve the experience over time — for example, knowing which browsers are most common or which features people use most.
The data we collect through analytics is completely anonymous and aggregated. It includes things like:
- Number of visitors and page views
- Approximate country or region (based on IP address, which is then anonymized)
- Browser type and device category
- How long people spend on the page
We do not use analytics to identify individual users, and we do not combine analytics data with any personal information.
Information we do not collect
To be absolutely clear, PixelLeve does not collect:
- Your name, email address, or any contact information
- Your images or any file content (these never leave your browser)
- Account credentials of any kind (there are no accounts)
- Payment information (the service is entirely free)
- Any data that personally identifies you
Third-party links
Ads displayed on PixelLeve may contain links to third-party websites. These websites have their own privacy policies, and we have no control over them.
We recommend reading the privacy policy of any external site you visit before sharing any personal information with them. PixelLeve is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any third-party site.
Children's privacy
PixelLeve is a general-purpose tool suitable for everyone. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13.
Because we do not collect personal information from any users at all, we have no mechanism through which a child's personal data could reach us. All image compression occurs locally in the user's browser with no data transmitted to our servers.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. Since PixelLeve does not collect personal data directly, most of these rights apply to the data Google collects through its advertising and analytics services.
Here is what you can do:
- Opt out of personalized ads: Visit google.com/settings/ads to manage your ad preferences.
- Opt out of Google Analytics: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Manage or delete cookies: Use your browser settings to view, manage, or delete cookies at any time.
- Use an ad blocker: You are free to use browser extensions that block ads or tracking scripts.
If you are located in the European Union, the UK, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA respectively. These rights primarily concern data held by Google, which you can exercise through Google's privacy tools at myaccount.google.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to check this page occasionally if you are curious about updates. We will never introduce changes that reduce your privacy without making them clearly visible here.
